I needed a gift tag for a Yankee Swap gift and wanted to take part in The Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist on the Ellen Hudson the Classroom blog. I was inspired by Paula Cheney’s tag on Day 9.

Simon Says Stamp and Show also has a challenge-Inspired by Tim 12 Tags.

Here is what I did to put on a pink gift bag.

Christmas tag

This really was all Tim Holtz products. I cut out two tags, dry embossed one with Tim’s Texture Fades Sheet Music folder. I glued the two together to add weight to the tag then rubbed it with Bundled Sage and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks.

His line of Sizzix dies, Tags & Bookplates, Stacked Christmas Words, Reindeer Flight and Tattered Poinsettas made up the embellishments.

The tag was a hit at the Yankee Swap. One of the participants took it from the someone who had chosen it and said “I just want to bag. You don’t have to give me what’s inside..” I choose to interpret that not as a disparaging remark about the contents but instead the quality of the tag.

On to more tag and card making. I hope you are all on schedule for your holiday preparations. Thanks for stopping by.

Simon Says Stamp and Show has a Thank You challenge this week.

Here is the card I made.

I embossed the card base with a Sizzix embossing folder. The background on the front panel was stamped with an Inkadinkadoo stamp set. The birds are a Darcy stamp. The card is finished off with a banner and sentiment from a Simon Says stamp set. The hearts are a Simon Says die.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Make It Monday #74: Stamping on Texture

This week I embossed some craft card stock and then stamped a background stamp on just the raised portion of the embossing. Here is the resulting card.

I  used PTI Background Basics Postmarks to stamp the texture as well as PTI dies and stamps for the frame and sentiment. Here is a closer look at the embossed surfaces. I really like this technique.

Getting ready for the 4th!

Have a great holiday.

This week’s Make It Monday tutorial is computer generated sentiments on die cuts. This really adds versatility and individualization to anyone’s repertoire of card making tricks.

This is also entered in CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #46 Name That Tune.

I printed the words “Tip Toe Through the Tulips” and then used Papertrey’s picket fence die cut.

I used Memory Box’s Dancing Tulips and Tulip Petals for the flowers and a Sizzix embossing folder for one of the border papers.

The Tuesday Trigger for this week’s Moxie Fab World is this gorgeous picture that I have already added to my Pinterest  page.

I’m not sure how much simple elegance I achieved but I did manage to get an Easter card made for my sister.
