This week I did a card for two of my favorite card challenge sites Moxie Fab World and CAS-ual Fridays. Check them out using the links below.

The Minty Fresh Challenge and CFC65: Create a Clean And Simple Square shaped card

Here is my minty fresh square card.

I used PTI patterned papers for the mint colors. The sentiment is from Claudine Hellmuth’s Words and Frames 2. The frame die used is PTI and the leaves are a Cheery Lynn die.

Here’s a closer look. Thanks for stopping by today.

Make It Monday #74: Stamping on Texture

This week I embossed some craft card stock and then stamped a background stamp on just the raised portion of the embossing. Here is the resulting card.

I  used PTI Background Basics Postmarks to stamp the texture as well as PTI dies and stamps for the frame and sentiment. Here is a closer look at the embossed surfaces. I really like this technique.

Make It Monday #73: Stamping on Patterned Paper  and  Stamp It! Cards Week: The Thank You Challenge

Make It Mondays featured a tutorial for techniques stamping on patterned paper. The Stamp It! Cards Week asked for cards using stamping as the main focus.

Here is the card I did for these two challenges.

Supplies used: PTI Mat Stack 3 stamps, Simply Jane stamps, Mat Stack 5 dies and Fine Linen Pattern Paper; Spellbinders Label 22; Tim Holtz distress ink Antique Linen; Adirondack Archival Ink Blue Violet.

Make It Monday this week asked to Step It Up with embellishments. I chose Bloom Builders#3 die to make a series of birthday cards. With each card the flower became more complex as an embellishment.

First was the simplest where I used only part of the die for the flower. Background boarders Tin Type and sentiment was stamped in pigment ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Next I used all of the die cut pieces for a larger and fuller flower and added some vines and leaves. The vine is by Cheery Lynn Designs.

Finally I alternated white paper flowers with patterned paper flowers on vines and leaves sitting on a trellis.

A closer look.

Here is the image for June.

I was wondering how to interpret all these ruffled pillows when the newest Lovely Layers die in a square shape arrive in the mail. I took the square, oval, and circle and make my own pillows.

I stamped the patterned background  on the square pillow using the Natural Beauties stamp set and used the same set for the sentiment. I cut out the flower out of Bloom Builders #3 die. The frill on the bottom of the card was done with a Martha Stewart punch.

Thanks for stopping to take a look.

Make It Monday #69: Inspiration Into Unique Sketches

It’s that time again. This week’s Make It Monday demonstrates how to get inspiration from things around you to make your own unique sketches.

This is a sketch inspired by a scrapbook page layout that I selected for my card.

The resulting card is fluttery and floral.

I used Papertrey’s Fine Linen Paper Pack for the patterned papers. Banners were cut from My Favorite Things dies. The flowers are a combination of Prima flowers and a floral die from Cheery Lynn Designs. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.
