I added a new post to A Lady’s Home Journal. Stop by and take a look.

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #90: Creating Focal Point Sentiments with Stamps & Dies

I have been drawing imaginary creatures as part of my art journaling. I did this drawing and mounted it on card stock.

I put my sentiment using die cuts and stamps on the inside of the card.

You can see more of my drawing here on my new blog-A Lady’s Home Journals.

I have been consumed with drawing and painting after rediscovering art journaling. I decided to start another blog to post that work. I hope you will stop by there and see what I’m up too these days. Card making is on the back burner but I will have to revisit that soon enough with the Christmas card making that has to happen.

Angela Branon: A Lady’s Home Journals is where you can find me playing with making faces and whimsical creatures.

It’s that scary time of year. I made my Halloween cards and sent them out. Thanks to Frankenstorm Sandy, I’m not sure when they  will arrive.

The first two are for Friends with Pets. The last is one made with new Tim Holtz Halloween dies.

This card used a combination of Inkadinkadoo stamps, Martha Stewart stamps, and My Favorite Things stamps and punches as well as a new label die from Simon Says.

Here I jazzed up the simple black and white with an ornate Valencia Border Memory Box die.

Here is a card that resulted from a trip to Ink About It to pick up an Art Journal. These Tim Holtz Halloween dies had just arrived. It was hard to resist these kids. I put them on a long gate fold card.

Have a Happy Halloween!

Papertrey Blog Hop asked for non traditional holiday color schemes.

Here is what I selected.

Here is my card, using Papertrey dies and stamps and the bird image from InkaDinkaDoo stamps.

A closer look.

Thanks for Hopping over!

I had two birthdays to make cards for this month, one male and one female.

The background border was made with Memory Box Bubble Dot die. The girl is a Hampton Art ABC Primer 3 stamp. The calendar was made using Precious Remebrance Calendar stamp set.

Here is a close up.

The next card was for a dog owner friend whose pup has landed in a cone on occasion.

Here I used PTI’s Celebrate stamp set for the banner. The pup and sentiment was Skipping Stones stamp set Dogs Vol. 1.

Some detail.

Now it’s on to Halloween Cards. Thanks for stopping by.

Simon Says Stamp and Show blog has a challenge this week: For the Love of Sparkle. The projects on this blog are vintage inspired. Here is my contribution.

I stamped a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp “Holiday Collections” on card stock. I stamped the image using Distress Embossing Ink. Using Ranger’s distress embossing powders dropped into the areas I wanted color, I heat embossed the stamped image. This was a technique I saw Tim Holtz demonstrate at one of his workshops. I finished the by coloring with Distress Inks. I then mounted the piece onto pearlized copper colored card stock and attached at the corner with cooper wire.

Here is a closer look.

I needed a card for a photo book I was giving as a gift. I had the perfect stamp and die set from Papertrey Ink. It is Shutterbug Special. Along with some My Minds Eye Honey Cake 6 x 6 paper I came up with the perfect accompaniment.

And a close up:

I hope you are all enjoying this glorious Fall day. Thanks for visiting.

I finally got around to installing Lightroom 3 after purchasing and playing with my Nik software bundle. Put Lightroom and Nik’s Silver Effects Pro 2 together and , oh my, look what you get.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Hope you all had a glorious week end.

I spent this week end editing and putting together a long overdue book of wedding photos. The wedding took place in Provincetown, MA on a lovely week end. Here is just a small sample of a few of the shots I took.
